How do you create a business doing what you love to do?
As an artist I learned early on that whatever images I held in my head long enough would eventually emerge in some shape or form as a piece of art. It took me much longer to realize that same process was not only responsible for the creation of art, but also the creation of my business as well as the creation and reality of my life.
So many very talented artists struggle with making a living from the art they create. What I have learned is what has to happen to make a living from your art is a shift in your thinking. If you take that same focus and energy that creates your art and focus on images of the way you want you business to look you and feel, you will see the same miraculous results.
Creating is creating, it is the manifestation of the thoughts and images I focus on. This has been a huge lesson for me. As artists we master the ability to take the visual images in our minds and produce something tangible. That same process of holding a visual image in my mind of how I want my business to look creates a business that is tangible too. If I allow myself to think it is hard to make money creating what I love, guess what? It will be hard. If I change that thought to “How can I create money creating what I love? An amazing thing will happen and the answers will present themselves. If I start to visualize how I want that business to look and feel, even more amazing things happen and those images start to appear in my world.
If you start today thinking about what you do want for your business instead of what you don’t want you have begun the process of creating a business and a life that supports your art.
